MSI Current Status 8/22/2016:
Right now as I open this thread, MSI support is saying we should all buy new laptops instead of asking for upgrades. :rolleyes:o_O

Of course we all know that MSI promised 2 generations of GPU upgrades for the MXM laptop models GT72/GT72S and GT80/GT80S.

We need to stick together and compare notes on the upcoming MSI Pascal GPU upgrades for our laptops.

Wireless Docking with Intel AC18260?

Hey guys, I stumbled upon Intel Wireless docking while doing some research about vPro. I learned that wireless docking is achieved through Dell's wireless dock and pairing it with the AC18260, which seems to be available only in the E5570. Video below:



Now I've found some eBay and Amazon listings that sell just the card. Does anyone know if I can just install this into any other laptop (namely the Clevo P560RS) and be good to go? I'd love to have...

So I bought this expensive 6K desktop replacement and ditched other options because it had socketed components so I can upgrade it and it would be a long term investment. But 1 GPU upgrade and we're locked out of getting it is very disappointing to me.

I know there is no guarantee to upgrades but IMO should not be the case on a laptop that was the flagship just a few months...

Anyone else disappointed?

I'm looking at purchasing the Sager Clevo P650RS-G as my next machine, so I've tried to do a comparison of some of the major resellers, Xotic, HIDevolution, LPC Digital, Origin PC, and Mythlogic.

The two most important factors for me are: quality assurance and temperature which I want as low as possible, even during gaming I'm hoping not to exceed 75-80C max. All the resellers seem to offer thermal compound, Xotic will even install copper cooling which sounds interesting.

looks like we have a lot of electronic breakthrough from 1980 to now 2016

I think in 1980 we couldn't imagine we had desktop PC in 1990 and internet in 2000 that had become something so common in our life. And now we have smartphone that is actually a portable computer, we can use it for map and location, searching for people nearby, texting, paying. In 1980 we could only use a bulk telephone to voice somebody...
