Hi. I've been trying to get linux working on my cf-29 mk4. My machine has celeron m 1.6ghz, 1.5gb ram, a touchscreen (totally dead) and intel 2915bg wifi. I currently have a 40gb hard disk in it which I swapped from my cf-18. The issue is, as the title says, the halt on suspend issue. I have been searching on and off for a few years how to solve this issue but I have found only 1 other cf-29 owner with the same issue but was unable to contact him. I created a YouTube video to reach a larger audience and hopefully find a solution. I seem to be having difficulty with the Intel 8260 WiFi card that came stock and I can't seem to pinpoint the problem. Is this a hardware thing or a Windows 10 thing? I made the video super short (3:30). I'd like to get this fixed before Battlefield 1 is released. Thank you to anyone who gives advice in advance.

I did this driver mod a few days ago and it seems to be working well for me in benchmarks and games, so I am sharing it with you folks to see if it works well for you also.

It should work on any Alienware or Clevo laptop because it only identifies the GPU hardware ID, so Clevo owners should feel free to try it out. On-the-fly-SLI mod is not necessary, as it works by default using this desktop driver.

Note: The nvcvi.inf and nvdmn.inf files have been intentionally messed up, so don't try to...

What's the deal with Win 10 and driver signing

I have my clean install up and running. I need to install some drivers for my Fiio X3 to work as a DAC. The drivers are signed (and confirmed signed during the install process), and no warnings pop up during the install. But the X3 won't work. Checking the device manager there is a warning about not being able to verify the signing or some BS like that. In order to get the X3 to work I need to boot the damn computer with driver signing disabled every freaking time.
What's up with this damn...

So finally I got my 2 GTX 680m´s from One.de - they were not too expensive if you compare to other companies, so I am very satisfied.

Since the first benches of the GTX 680m I thought of upgrading to the 680m´s - my 485m´s were ok til then, because overclocked to 675m GTX clocks they came very close to them.
But since the GTX 680m were about twice as fast as a 580m, I just had to try :D.

I was not the only one, and we kept asking resellers in different forums if it were possible to...

Recently bought the MSI GS60 6QE Ghost Pro, and these are my found problems and considerations that can be extrapolated to any MSI notebook, under my understanding:

- The USB ports are quite tight. You need to apply quite a lot of of force to put and remove usb pendrives. You use the macbook or Sony and it's a pleasure to use. The right amount of pressure, no more, no less.

- The position of the motherboard and connector is awkard, making it a nightmare to disassemble and assemble back,...

Don't buy MSI notebooks, they are crap and here's why

Let's get a list of who has the 4k panel & screen flicker at any brightness setting so I can present this to Dell the next time I call and they tell me they have never heard of this problem before (the default response)
If you have the FHD (1080) panel please don't reply as the initial fix seemed to be aimed at the FHD customers that in turn broke our 4k panels.
Dell may need to split the BIOS into 2 to fix specific panel types so we need to get a case going.

Please list the BIOS versions...

This has been an issue I've had since I purchased the laptop, and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed.

I have the latest Realtek audio drivers. When I play an mp3 from the headphone jack to my speaker system, the sound is very blah. Low base and just sounds tinny, even when coming out of my $2k sound system.

However, when I play the same audio file from my phone or another computer, the sound is much fuller and there is much more bass. Also, I used my previous xps 15 (L502x) and the...

After some digging it looks like the MSI GT 15.6" in flavor is making a return in the form of the GT62 VR edition. This appears to be an actual GT62 and not that unbranded barebones with a desktop CPU that we've seen in the past. An official GT62! So far I've seen 2 SKUs with the 6700HQ and 6820HK but GPU and screen is unlisted.

Other laptops inbound include the GT72VR, GS73/63VR, GS43VR, and GE72/62VR.

Hopefully we know more soon, but good news for anyone that wants the 15.6" GT...

Hey there guys,

great forum full of very wonderful and helpful people.

So i have my sights set on a 1070 laptop, i was thinking 1060 but why not push the boat out as the GPU's are not upgradable and the 1070 is a monster for 1080p gaming - Should be good to go for at least 2 years i would imagine.

So there are many options, i wouldn't want to spend more than 1700 dollars as i'm ordering from Japan (living here now) from the US. Bandhphoto has the very best deals in terms of postage -...

--Looks like they're all coming with a Core i7-6820HK processor this time, including the 13.9" X3.
--Aorus has added the per-key RGB LED keyboard on the X5 and X7 models.
--Additional cooling intakes on the X7 DT.
--X7 series has a 120Hz/5ms panel, so does the X5 (FHD panel only)

I am the original owner of this early 2012 AW. I has a GeForce 675m that died last year. I switched to the integrated card and have been using it ever since (rarely play any games).
