Yet another GPU upgrade question..........

Hi,
Have been reading a few threads over the last few months as have been wanting to upgrade my 5850m to something better.
I can't seem to find a clear cut answer on the most friendly upgrade.
Been looking at the 6990m 7970m but all seem to need new backplates or modding of some sort.

Question is, what is the best GPU upgrade that's pretty much plug and play (displayport functionality is a must) that i can use my backplate from the 5850 for?

I enjoy modding but just want something to chuck...

After some digging it looks like the MSI GT 15.6" in flavor is making a return in the form of the GT62 VR edition. This appears to be an actual GT62 and not that unbranded barebones with a desktop CPU that we've seen in the past. An official GT62! So far I've seen 2 SKUs with the 6700HQ and 6820HK but GPU and screen is unlisted.

Other laptops inbound include the GT72VR, GS73/63VR, GS43VR, and GE72/62VR.

Hopefully we know more soon, but good news for anyone that wants the 15.6" GT...

R2 processor failure

Hello,

I have an AW M18x r2 and two days ago, when I turned on the computer, I've been welcomed by 7 bips.
I think the processor is broken. It was a 3920xm. Can anyone tell me if the problem is really a processor failure and what model can I buy to replace the 3920?

They are advertising a HP omen with a 4k IPS gsync display with a GTX 1070 pascal chip.. but on the "buy now" there is no option for anything above 1080p and certianly not a pascal gpu

XPS 9350 not automatically switching to headphone

When I plug in headphones, my XPS13 prompts me with a window to switch sound to headphones.

Is there a way with the dell drivers to have it switch automatically? (like all other laptops I've used)

I'd rather not install new drivers if I don't have to.

MSI Current Status 8/22/2016:
Right now as I open this thread, MSI support is saying we should all buy new laptops instead of asking for upgrades. :rolleyes:o_O

Of course we all know that MSI promised 2 generations of GPU upgrades for the MXM laptop models GT72/GT72S and GT80/GT80S.

We need to stick together and compare notes on the upcoming MSI Pascal GPU upgrades for our laptops.

GL502VT weird noise.

So, I bought this laptop 2 days ago and I've noticed a weird staticy buzz coming from the VRM area. It reacts to any type of load or work - even to mouse movement. The notebook itself works fine - no issues that I can see. Is this some form of coil whine or should I go through the hassle of RMAing it?

was think and hopping alienware would come to its sences but it seems they havent yet.. seems like they never listened to there true base.. but you know who has out of all these company's lol Acer.. go figure that one out..

I'll keep this as short as I possibly can. If you have any questions I'm more than willing to answer just ask them below!

First things first. Why, out of all the current models of Clevo laptops did I choose this one? Mainly because I only wanted 1 gpu. As boring as that sounds it's literally the only reason I didn't go with a P870DM3.

I'll start with a TL;dr then go in to more details further down.

TL;dr: I love it.

My gripes would be temperatures that REQUIRE undervolting (more research...

Greetings,

I will be repasting the P775DM3 very soon and will be posting up the results w/ a lot of pictures for your entertainment. My liquid metal paste of choice will be Grizzly Conductonaut, however, I'll be experimenting with other pastes as well to satisfy any curiosity as to if one can get by with just traditional paste. (Highly doubtful, but I am curious about GC.)

Traditional paste wise, I have a feeling that GELid will hold up pretty well.

Bought the AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB (AzureWave AW-CE123H) from Amazon to install it on my Sony Vaio VPC Z13 (W-Lan card, 802.11ac + BT4.0 Mini PCI-e, 867 Mbit/s). The wifi works out of the box with the Broadcom driver, however the bluetooth doesn't. The operating system is Windows 10. Does anybody know where to get the bluetooth driver?

hello , im gonna buy the new alienware 17 and the fastest ram they offer is 2667mhz so i was wondering should i buy rams from amazon ? coz either way im gonna pay hell alot of money for the laptop and i want the best thing in my laptop so does any of u know about this stuff coz im kind of a noob i dont know about latency i just know the speed is important in games and i know its not important by alot but i just want the best thing i'd appreciate if someone helps me with this decision

Ok as promised and a day late since UPS didnt deliver until after 7 pm and I was at work all night here are some unboxing pictures...the system is burning the backup discs now so figured it was a good time to try to get this started.

BTW....I love this laptop as soon as I unboxed it....the chocolate brown with the swirl pattern is AWESOME....the keyboard is great as well...not backlit but I never had one that was so not missing anything there. Screen out of the box looks good...will have...

I just bought the new Clevo P651RS-G .. now this model is out on the Clevo web site too!!!

Hi all..

I'm new here, this is my first thread & post.

I've been given a good condition Sony Vaio PCG6N1L a k a VGN-SZ330P for free from a friend (she doesn't know anything about computer).

I'll give it to my daughter for his school work and although it's an old laptop, but I know it's still adequate for her tasks (MS Office etc).

When I first open it, the OS is Windows 7, and seems to work OK except for some things (like scroll touchpad, Fn Keys, Camera etc).
