MSI GT62 coming soon..

After some digging it looks like the MSI GT 15.6" in flavor is making a return in the form of the GT62 VR edition. This appears to be an actual GT62 and not that unbranded barebones with a desktop CPU that we've seen in the past. An official GT62! So far I've seen 2 SKUs with the 6700HQ and 6820HK but GPU and screen is unlisted.

Other laptops inbound include the GT72VR, GS73/63VR, GS43VR, and GE72/62VR.

Hopefully we know more soon, but good news for anyone that wants the 15.6" GT...

I just purchased a little Fujitsu Q550 atom slate pc, and it has an empty MPCIE slot inside (for a wwan card). I want to know if I can use it for GPS as follows....

Shawn had pointed me to a ublox7 usb mini gps dongle (aka vk172), and I ended up not using it, since I already had a ublox 6 and ttl converter. I also wasn't sure if it would work with s&t since it outputs usb from the ublox chip directly and not uart?

So, will the VK-172 gps work with Streets and Trips?
Can I use that gps...

Flickering screen

Hi Guys,

I just arrived at a LAN party and since then the screen that I connected randomly flashes/flickers once every 30-120 minutes. It flickers like it would when switching to inboard graphics. black - distortion - black - extremely short white flash - black and back to normal. Once it didn't come back and the laptop screen was black too.


What is going on?

Hi everyone!

I'm facing a small issue these days. Recently I purchased brand new HP ProBook 430 G3 (i3 6100U, 4GB DDR3, 500HDD) for a bargain of 350 euros. I've already ordered an SSD, more RAM, backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader, since I want this one to be my primary work machine.
Problem I have right now is an awful 13.3'' 768p TN screen. Colors are washed-out, viewing angles terrible and most of all it's kinda blueish and makes my eyes sore fast. I've already replaced 15.6" TN 768p...

Need help with panel swap

Time to get this thread going!

Cross posting from another thread my thoughts so far:

I picked up the GS63VR from Best Buy tonight and the first thing I noticed is the high pitched sound coming from the CPU fan (right side when looking at the notebook).. That's pretty much a deal breaker for me. If they aren't supposed to be like this, I may exchange this one.. Because I do a lot of video encoding which will peg the cpu to 100% for hours at a time and I can't deal with this high pitched...

Hello folks, I would like to buy a new notebook to play GTA 5. Been considering the MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro, but in the reviews they say it has too little contrast. Would like a great screen for everyday use, watching movies and of course gaming to GTA 5.

Just saw this bios and updated from the Dell Support site (Marked as URGENT)

Fixes & Enhancements
-Caldera mode1 enter mode5 setting
-Remove TDPL method for DPT

Anyone know what this does?

So, it seems some new Latitudes can now be ordered. I'm looking at the Latitude 5470. I like that it has a quad in the standard config.

It seems they ship with an M.2 SSD. It's not clear to me whether a bay for a 2.5" hard disk is also available. Does anyone know?

Clevo 170HM3 won't boot! Help!

An hour or two before this post I had just shut down the system normally. Now it won't boot to Windows and for unknown reasons tries to boot from the Ethernet controller with PXE-E53: no boot file and received.

I've checked the BIOS and my OS HDD is detected with boot order putting it at P0, top of the boot sequence order.

I've never seen this before and am in a panic as I have a deadline next Monday. What should I do?

I have an alienware 15 r1 early 2015 model.
1. I am going to upgrade my 8gb ddr3 ram to 16gb ddr3l ram. This is what i am planning to replace it with.

Slow site performance

It's random, one second threads would load instantly, the next, it would load in slow motion with a lot of lag until the connection even starts. I am on a 100 MBPS Down / 20 MBPS up connection. This is the only site that gives me speed issues.

Just wanted to report this, maybe it's just a temporary server overload
