I've had the SC17 for a two and half months now and have been using it for class work in Autodesk and a mobile gaming machine. I love the fit and finish of the laptop, but it's just to darn big. Unfortunaty I'll well past the return window for the laptop. With all of these small 14" laptops with GTX 1060 in them I'm very tempted to get one. But, I'd have to sell my SC17 to justify it. The laptop has been taken very well cared for and has no visible signs of wear or tear, never been dropped,...

Buongiorno, although I'm not Italian.

I'm looking for a replacement for my dearly beloved Logitech LX7, which was tremendously pleasant to use, but in the end went to mouse heaven due to old age and complications from leaky batteries. It was honorably discharged after nearly 10 years of loyal service.

I'd like a mouse that feels comfortable to use, is normal-size, durable, smart looking (no garish gamer mice for me, thank you) and with plenty of buttons. I'm willing to spend around 40 € /...

I've been racking my brain for over a week now trying to find the perfect blend of features in a laptop under $1000 that will be reliable (my laptops usually get 5 years if life) and do everything I need it to and do it all perfectly. What are your thoughts and first initial impressions?
  • Do you foresee the new cooling design being able to cool the 1080 better than DTR's/Clevo's?

  • Are you going to be ditching your current AW to get the new one?

  • Will you be buying a different brand all together? Reason for the switch?

  • Are you willing to pay DTR prices for the new AW if it turns out that way?

I would like to buy a P650RS-G laptop with the following configuration:

QFHD 4K display, thermal paste upgrade, 30 day pixel warranty, i7-6820HK, 16GB ram, 500GB EVO 850 SSD, 1TB HD, Intel 8260 wifi, Windows 10, 2 Year Warranty.

LPC Digital does not provide the liquid metal thermal paste upgrade or the Prema Custom (v)BIOS, but they do come in about 10% cheaper ($247) with the same configuration. I've contacted Donald at HIdevolution and I accept his explanation for the ways that...

Since the resellers have all but confirmed the pricing and availability of these machines, I've decided to create an owner's lounge.

15.6" FHD standard screen
Processor: 2630QM Standard
GPU: NVIDIA GT555M w/ Optimus
RAM: No info so far

Availability and Pricing: Early May, about $70 to $100 more expensive than the stock NP5160, so....about $800 - $850. The NP5175 is listed on XOTICPC as $949 stock.

Who's excited about this? I know I am :D

Install Nvidia 980M on MSI GX70

I searched around the forum for an answer, but I couldn't find it.
It seems the GT70 series have a Nvidia card, and the GX70 have a AMD card. However, both have a MXM-B 3.0 connector. So my question is: Would a Nvidia 980M work on a GX70 (which had a R9 M290X).

Reason is, because I can get a 980M cheap, but I want to test it to be sure. The 980M is from a MSI GT72.

im wondering, that no one is talking about the new Zbook 17 G3 and there is no thread for it? So i just opened one, please report your experience or thoughts about this workstation.

Im pending between ordering an old 8770w (looks more robust) with the maxed out specs or waiting for the new zbook 17 with the Xeon CPU and the M5000M (but it has some weak points for me like: design, quality issues etc)

Let's get a list of who has the 4k panel & screen flicker at any brightness setting so I can present this to Dell the next time I call and they tell me they have never heard of this problem before (the default response)
If you have the FHD (1080) panel please don't reply as the initial fix seemed to be aimed at the FHD customers that in turn broke our 4k panels.
Dell may need to split the BIOS into 2 to fix specific panel types so we need to get a case going.

Please list the BIOS versions...

CF-53 MK1 - bluetooth problems

Hello Toughbook gurus out there, I am in need of expertise please and thank you.

I have a new to me CF-53AAGZX1M that was sold as having Bluetooth, however upon receiving it bt connectivity did not appear in BIOS.

After a bunch of driver updates etc bt then showed in device manager as working (Toshiba RFCOMM) however I could not turn it on in Bluetooth Manager (Bluetooth Function Disable - Please plug in the bluetooth device) did not appear in the Wireless Switch Utility and I couldn't...

XPS 15 9550 temperature observations (undervolt + repaste)

I had a couple of hours to mess around with the XPS 15 9550 in my sig (i5 version) and decided to see what temperatures I was hitting. I tested it under Prime95 small fft's for 20 minutes and looked at the average temperature. I tested it first with all stock settings/paste and then undervolted by 185mv (a setting that is prime stable for me). After that I repasted the cpu and gpu with IC Diamond thermal paste, tried it at stock voltage, and then undervolted again.

Increase performance of the Aspire V15?

My gf has the Acer Aspire V15 Intel Core i7-5500U and has recently got in to video editing. I appreciate this isn't ideal for that but we can't afford a new laptop at the moment so I'm looking for ways of increasing the performance of her current set up.

Is it easy to add additional RAM? If so, what should I be looking for?
Any other ways I can increase performance? External graphics card, for example?

I was considering going big on a 17" desktop replacement this year (to give you an idea of how long Ive waited, my current notebook has a burned out 6990m), but given there are not any games Im crazy about maxing out, Ive figured to hold out until whenever Elder Scrolls VI shows its beautiful face.

In the meantime, Im in need of a notebook to use for university, and am hoping I can also make it a gaming machine to hold me over. Im currently thinking of waiting for...

MSI GT72VR 6RE, Dominator Pro : oh no ! Killer drivers issues again...

Hi guys,

I recently bought one of those beast. I am fully happy with it, except for one thing : the killer network drivers !
I have the impression that after a few minutes of download on steam, it regulates and limits my download speed !

I have the 1.1.57.1126 drivers version.

Does anybody know what I need to do? It will be very appreciated.

I have tried :
- run > services.msc > stop Killer Network program
- Disable on startup on the tasks program.
- Also tried a Killer...
