Hi,

If anyone here is considering the MSI GS43VR you might want to reconsider and get the ASUS GL502 instead, if you can manage the larger size.

I got the Nordic version of the MSI GS43VR yesterday, and the overall experience was pretty bad. Looking at the "lid open" pictures before making my purchase it looked like MSI kept using the "old style" fans which cannot go under 30% max RPM without switching off completely, when almost everyone else (ASUS, Apple, Dell, Microsoft, etc) goes with...

Disappointed with the GS43VR (fans, build quality, etc)

Windows 10-: How do I create a user account that does not allow downloads?

My mother's downloaded a virus to her computer. I want to prevent this from happening again so I want to create a user account that does not allow downloading of anything.
From what I read, a Standard account will not allow any type of downloading or installation.
However I was able to download and install Windows Essentials while logged into her account. Why is this?

MSI Current Status 8/22/2016:
Right now as I open this thread, MSI support is saying we should all buy new laptops instead of asking for upgrades. :rolleyes:o_O

Of course we all know that MSI promised 2 generations of GPU upgrades for the MXM laptop models GT72/GT72S and GT80/GT80S.

We need to stick together and compare notes on the upcoming MSI Pascal GPU upgrades for our laptops.

Hey guys. Its my first post here. Im likely going to pickup my first gaming laptop in the near future(cant drag my gaming rig to college lol). For anyone wondering,
the new 17" Sager Displays with 120hz refresh have beautiful, clear colors.

When i calibrated my display the factory color gamut was the closest match to a post calibrated laptop display ive seen. Very good color gamut out of the box.

Most noticeable however is the crisp, clean, clear colors especially with graphics and fast moving gaming.

Laptops and displays, especially the 17" models are heavy, but its worth it do to screen quality.

Dont hesitate on getting one...

I own a 5-year old Clevo 170HM3 and it's showing early signs of future collapse so I'm in the market for the new Pascal-powered Clevos (particularly the SLI 1080 model).

Unfortunately for me I've not been keeping up with developments in the laptop screen sector so a lot of the new terminology is beyond me. Hopefully the experts on this forum can help me, the complete neophyte here.

1. Nvidia G-Sync. I've searched the forum and read the marketing blurb. But what does this feature actually...

Hi,
Have been reading a few threads over the last few months as have been wanting to upgrade my 5850m to something better.
I can't seem to find a clear cut answer on the most friendly upgrade.
Been looking at the 6990m 7970m but all seem to need new backplates or modding of some sort.

Question is, what is the best GPU upgrade that's pretty much plug and play (displayport functionality is a must) that i can use my backplate from the 5850 for?

I enjoy modding but just want something to chuck...
