I am starting this thread because I feel this series is noteworthy and deserves discussion. I loved my previous GT72 Dominator Pro, and to me it was my favorite 17" platform, but now I am WOW'ed by this new series. Not only do we see nice improvements and more frills, but LOOK at the choices amongst the SKU's..... from single 1070 and 1080 models, to SLI 1070's..... at considerable varying prices, in truth, any of these should game very nicely. If I were not committed to my GT83VR purchase,...

m18r2 - randomly shutting off during gaming

this started happening about a week ago and its instant shutdown, no black screens etc.... tried swapping AC adapters, trying a different outlet right now with different ac adapter

any way to narrow this down without swapping things around? its a pain to open this thing up

when the gpu crashed there was usually a black screen, when the cpu crashed there was a blue screen, this is just instant shutoff like someone pulled the power, ive even dialed back the clocks on both to test

1st post being updated ready for the release of the Windows 10 Anniversary update.

I decided to add in 2 more as Education was requested and my previous was based on the single language home so that may have caused the failed activation issue in the past for some.

I heard that Premamod V2 causes Fps drop well now on my bios setting

Anyone ever rolled back from windows 10 to 7?

Hi guys,, as the title has anyone on here rolled back their version of windows? I am having issues at the moment and as Tech support appear to have exhausted all hardware checks and monitoring they have now advised me to try rolling back as the M15X is not supported on windows 10.

When I go onto Microsoft website and enter the product key it tells me that product key was used to pre-install on the device and that I should contact the device manufacturer for options. When I called Dell...

Anyone ever rolled back from windows 10 to 7?

log in issue after re format.

long story short my 4 year old clevo (spec below) was getting slow so i thought a clean install and format would help.
well it has and it hasnt.

firstly after a format and re installing windows 7 all went well. then when i loaded the driver disk it all went downhill from there as the disc just would not run. no matter what i tried and i tried 3 different disc drives.
finally downloaded the drivers again from mysn website but there was one missing so i got that from sager.

all loaded and...

log in issue after re format.

Alienware 17 r3 Power button issue

Hi all,





I have a pretty strange issue with my power button. The button Works fine for power up the system, but it does not work for anything else. For example, if I put the system to sleep, I won't be able to come back because the power button doesn't work.



If I set the system to sleep when pressing the power button, nothing happens. If I set the power button press to simply turn off the screen, it won't also work.





Any ideas what might be? It's clearly that's not a hardware issue.

Driver advice

Looking for some opinions about the best drivers to use.
Just did a fresh Win 10 install, and am wondering if I should just stick with the drivers from Acer (which I'm using atm) or go for the latest generic available from Nvidia/Intel/etc.
How's about using a program like Driver Booster for the upgrades?
