Hi guys, I need some advice about my next laptop.
I've been looking for a clevo with the new GPU's pascal sold by pcspecialist:

What clevo is it and how are temps?
I've never had a clevo, how reliable is in the long term? I mean keyboard, display and how the gpu can last playing once in a while.

Would you suggest buying on pcspecialist outside the UK?

Hi,
Have been reading a few threads over the last few months as have been wanting to upgrade my 5850m to something better.
I can't seem to find a clear cut answer on the most friendly upgrade.
Been looking at the 6990m 7970m but all seem to need new backplates or modding of some sort.

Question is, what is the best GPU upgrade that's pretty much plug and play (displayport functionality is a must) that i can use my backplate from the 5850 for?

I enjoy modding but just want something to chuck...

I am starting this thread because I feel this series is noteworthy and deserves discussion. I loved my previous GT72 Dominator Pro, and to me it was my favorite 17" platform, but now I am WOW'ed by this new series. Not only do we see nice improvements and more frills, but LOOK at the choices amongst the SKU's..... from single 1070 and 1080 models, to SLI 1070's..... at considerable varying prices, in truth, any of these should game very nicely. If I were not committed to my GT83VR purchase,...

Let's get a list of who has the 4k panel & screen flicker at any brightness setting so I can present this to Dell the next time I call and they tell me they have never heard of this problem before (the default response)
If you have the FHD (1080) panel please don't reply as the initial fix seemed to be aimed at the FHD customers that in turn broke our 4k panels.
Dell may need to split the BIOS into 2 to fix specific panel types so we need to get a case going.

Please list the BIOS versions...

I recently moved desks at work and am now close to a person who believes that because she is in an office she can be as loud as she pleases. Unfortunately, she is also several pay grades above me, so I'm just going to have to deal with it. As such, I'm looking to purchase a set of active noise-canceling, over-ear headphones. I've tried the Bose QuietComfort, and while the first half of that name is true, the second is not. What alternatives are out there, preferably with a price tag of $150...

Possible GPU upgrade for Precision M4600

I'd like to get feedbacks from users that have successfully upgraded the GPU on their Dell Precision M4600 beyond the manufacturer available cards. Could you please let me know what card you used, if they are branded (HP, Dell, or others), what kind of BIOS you are running and if you ran into any issues! I am trying to find out definite answers about what can be done on this computer.

Hello all,

Nvidia just dropped the veil on their new Pascal mobile GPUs, and Asus showed their new GLx02 line.

From what I can tell, we can expect both GTX 1060 and GTX 1070, as well as 75Hz GSYNC on select models

GS43VR and HTC Vive - "Compositor Not Available (400)" issue.

I just got my GS43VR. I wiped the HDD and put a fresh coat of Windows 10 Pro on it. I also switched out the 1TB HDD for a 512GB Samsung 850 SSD.

Here's my problem... more often than not, when I try to use my HTC Vive, I get the "Compositor is not available (400)" error in SteamVR. I have had the Vive work exactly twice since I got the laptop.

It's been hard to find any good info on how to fix this issue, especially when I search specific to this laptop. I have tried uninstalling and...
