I just spent some time working on my father-in-law's current laptop, a Samsung NP-Q330-JA03HK from 2011. It had gotten incredibly sluggish, so I wiped the C: drive and factory restored it, and then went thru the agony of 4+ years of Windows updates...
That laptop is now OK, but is not as performant as I would like. So, I am going to ask my father-in-law if he would like to consider either upgrading his current laptop or buying a new one. If I upgrade it, I would probably increase the RAM...
