Thin/light 15" general use

I am looking for something as thin and light as possible in a 15" or larger that my wife will use. She currently has an old Dell 17" that is very heavy. It will not be used for any real intensive tasks so it does not need a ton of CPU but I do want the responsiveness of SSD. I use an X1 Carbon for work and would love a 15" that incorporates some of the ideas of thin and light that are in that X1 Carbon.
