Moving away from Alienware

I own two Alienware laptops, an M11x and an M14x R2. Both are still going strong and I take excellent care of them. The M11x hinge broke two years ago, out of warranty and living in East Asia at the time, Dell still sent out a tech to fix it for me at no charge. So awesome! My experience with Alienware to date has been excellent.

Now, I am ready to get a new machine. I'm looking at the Alienware 17 R2, but this throttling issue has me nervous enough to stop buying Alienware. It's too bad...
