Dell XPS M1530 Display Lines/Shadow Issue

Hello everyone,

Just today after a few years, my Dell XPS M1530 suddenly showed a bunch of dark vertical areas each about an inch apart on the screen. Did a search on this forum and saw an old post (which has now been closed) that errily resembles the screenshot on that post. I reproduce from that post the attached screenshot. I think the display is shot.
