Dell's PSU has the security ROM...can it be disabled?

Dell's PSU has the security ROM...can it be disabled? Someone sad on AP that it can be disabled in the BIOS. I really would like to buy one off Amazon and not from dell for half the price. The one from amazon didn't work so i returned it but if it can be disabled awesome.
