Portable Powerhouse for Programming & Productivity

So I'm about to sell my beloved Alienware M17x R3. Although it has had its problems, this thing has been awesome for what I use it for. I need something that can replace the speed of this machine, whilst increasing battery life, and becoming portable, as I'll be travelling whilst using it.
