Just reporting in with another dead 7970m. It will work in safe mode but not windows (freezes, locks-up after login). It was v1.1 and did beautifully until after GTA V.
Lifespan - under 2 years
Had also started to show purple on bios screen and horizontal lines weird graphics corruption.
Luckily I have 6990m from old days installed it and all very well and back to normal for now.![:)]( "Smile :)")
May purchase a 7970m or is there anything better out there for an old m17xr2?
