Which laptop for an Autocad student?

I have seen my friend who has the exact same laptop like mine try to run Solid Works for 3D Design and that thing ran like a dog, very slow and choppy rendering I was shocked that the power of the GTX 780 in SLI he has couldn't even handle those renders. He told me that he needs to get a Quadro GPU.

Now my wife's nephew is getting into college and he needs a laptop for working with Autocad, would he need a Quadro or what? Which GPU does he need?
