Beware of ranting ahead lol!
I figured I'd share my horror story about my Alienware purchase and it's ongoing frustrations. I bought a m17x r3 about 18 months ago, and when I got it one of the styrofoam placements around the speaker began to rattle causing some rather obnoxious sounds, so after calling and spending almost 4 hours being hung up on, transferred, transferred then hung up, and an all around hellish experience I decided to email them.
After yet again being transferred, etc etc again I explained that if something wasnt going to get done shortly I'd contact the BBB and post a review about the experience online. Nothing, so I did as I promised and within 24 hours I'd been contacted by the right people, and a fix was under way. Needless to say they came, repaired (but not really), were incredibly rude the entire time, and didn't really fix anything, after 2 more attempts all the while hassling to have them repair it, they finally came once, and scratched my screen... To which they came to replace that and screwed that up by smashing it into place ruining my camera.
This was all in the first 2 months of owning my laptop. They eventually agreed to replace the system, to which it arrived, broken, and after several attempts to repair not knowing what they were doing, that one too had to be replaced. That one was fine and dandy, for a bit until just recently the hdd died. Simple fix, yet for some reason, it is now in their hands, and has been for over a week, to simply repair and fix it. I've had the laptop for a bit more than a year and since then it's been nothing but utter pain dealing with everyone. At least this most recent time they sent a politer serviceman, however it still doesn't excuse the terrible service and mostly broken machines I've received for the premium prices I've paid. I'll say this, I will never buy dell again and I hope people take caution after hearing stories like this!
